Asin Thottumkal (Malayalam: അസിന്‍ തോട്ടുങ്കല്‍), (born October 26,1985) is an Indian film actress from the state of Kerala.
Making her acting debut in Sathyam Anthikkad's Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammaayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Award for the best Telugu Actress for the film.
After a number of films, she received her second South Filmfare Award for best Actress for her performance in her second Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). She played the lead female roles in hits, the thriller Ghajini (2005) and the action comedy Varalaru(2006). Deepika Padukone

Padukone was born Copenhagen,Denmark Her family moved to Bangalore, India, when she was eleven months old. Padukone is of Mangalorean origin, and her mother tongue is Konkani. She is a Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin, and her lineage hails from Padukone village in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the state of Karnataka, India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of international repute, and her mother is a travel agent. Padukone also has a younger sister, Anisha, born in 1991.
Padukone attended Sophia High School in Bangalore. She completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore,India. While in high school she played badminton at the state level However, she was not keen on pursuing a career as a badminton player and abandoned it to concentrate on her ICSE exams.
